Questions people ask
Is this really free for me?
Yes. You pay us nothing. The apartment community pays MAKZ a referral fee after you move in, and that is how we get paid.
How does MAKZ get paid?
The apartment pays us, not you. Most apartments set aside money to find renters. When you name us as your referral source, that fee comes to us instead — your rent does not go up because of it.
What areas do you cover?
All of Dallas–Fort Worth. Tell us the area you want to live in, or where you work or study, and we search around that.
Do I have to put MAKZ down as my referral?
Yes, and this part matters. Our name has to be on your guest card before your tour and on your application as the referral source. It cannot be added later — if it is missing, the apartment will not pay us, and the $150 rebate cannot be paid either.
When do I get the $150?
After you have moved in and the apartment community has paid MAKZ its referral fee — please allow up to 90 days after that. Your lease needs to be 12 months or longer, and if the community pays a smaller fee the rebate is smaller too. The full conditions are in the small print at the bottom of this page.
